Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

IT Layoffs

In the following 4 weeks we are going to see a 37% cut of IT staffing. This is not region specific, sites seeing the cuts should expect more broad layoffs as the year progresses.

I think we should outsource IT to Verizon.

IT is already bare bones after last years cuts. Any more layoffs and nothing will get done. They are consolidating the preferred vendor list again and will be enforcing the hiring of contractors outside of tier 1 regions to save money.

@gep+1srEZBel if you know anything about QA then you know that their ability to complete is all dependent upon the quality of the code being tested. We as program/product/project managers have failed at holding development teams accountable and then blame missed deadlines on the QA teams whose jobs are LITTERALLY to find the bad code so that it doesnt go to production. Development teams develop and supposedly also test their code, yet when the QA teams receive it its riddles with massive issues. Check yourself and take some time to understand the concept of cause and effect. In the SDLC/STLC the $hlt rolls downhill.

That seems oddly specific - is it just the IT side or all under Nestor (Cyber and Digital too)?

It appears that T-Mobile is doing a great job with the merger; maximizing revenue, minimizing expenses.

On the T-Mobile Investor Relations page, at the top, from the Financials dropdown menu, select SEC Filings. On the SEC Filings page, select Year (10-K “Filing” Year), and Filter on Annual Filings.

I figured that was so, because they are not backfilling positions in my region.

I'm not sure who I hate more, the leadershit of this company, whom I despise, or some of the absolute d-mbfu-ks who work here.

The help desk and the T-Mobile IT group have always had their own problems but now that Sprint 2.0 decided to send the help desk overseas it is even more of a joke.

The long standing rumor has been that they want to get back to the pre merger T-Mobile number of 53K. Based on the annual report number, that would mean 15k being laid off.

I was asking more about the cuts. A lot of contractors have been getting cut lately rather than waiting for their contracts to expire and not renewing.

NTWs don't get laid off, their contracts don't get renewed.

Based on the quality of the IT org and leadership, the entire team should be closely examined and evaluated. The quality assurance area needs to be dissolved and replaced with competent professionals who are able to provide clear and efficient work based on experience and knowledge
