Are there actually layoffs happening this week, or are disgruntled former employees just trolling the rest of us? I have a family to support and I’m terrified, like so many people.
So please. If anybody has ACTUAL information please share it. If you’re just trying to scare people, grow up.

I heard the layoff is this Wednesday 1/17. Godspeed.
There isn't anything that can be said to put you at ease here. I completely understand how " getting ready" is easier said than done. I myself had seen the writing on the wall since the 2021 layoffs and slowly began taking away at my resume and building my network again. I landed a job about 2 months after getting laid off this past October.
I would say see what's out there but exercise discretion so you don't overwhelm yourself, I don't mean this harshly but it sounds like you're okay wading in the waters.
Job security is few and far between these days outside of being a company founder (if you're competent) or government jobs. If 2U taught me anything, it's to stay tapped in even if I don't want to
I would assume that with the appointments of Aaron and Andrew- they will need to dig in and likely have say in how they plan to manage layoffs, where they should be etc. think of all the changes over the last 1.5 months and all at highest leadership levels. You need to give those people time to actually (ideally) make the cuts in the right places assuming layoffs are coming. Everyone is acting like you want layoffs to happen now or never. You can’t know all the things and this isn’t chips world with all the gossip (ie “SVP” on this channel) anymore. We can only HOPE that a plan is being thoughtfully developed which means no one SHOULD know yet. And yes- it’s always best practice to be ready. So get ready. But pressuring for answers isn’t helping anything.
I don’t think anyone really knows. Best practice is to have your resume ready and be ready to make a move if your number is called. We can’t bury our heads in the sand and pretend everything is alright with 2U. I am hoping for the best, but preparing for the worse.
I was laid off in the last round. It could truly happen to anyone. Always, ALWAYS have your resume updated. Luckily, I saw the writing on the wall and managed to land a new job a month after being laid off. If I had sat around wondering whether or not I was going to be laid off, I would be in a much different position right now. Just know this - getting laid off is not the end of the world. You'll have severance, and you'll have some time to pull things together. If it does happen, you'll be okay.
fracking autocorrect, should have read CRO
@OP, with CFO’s departure and all other shakeups, the sign is already on the wall. It really doesn’t matter it really doesn’t matter if it’s gonna happen this week or tje next month, the more prepared you are the sooner you’ll stop stressing about it.
Hearing positive things from managers then hearing from Paul before the break that layoffs will happen, it su-ks not knowing. I think the majority of us are feeling the stress, and fear. It’s horrible. I’m definitely not trying to add fuel to the fire, but based on the email last week mentioning the two upcoming meetings, one being that they’ll be finishing the budget by the end of this month, my guess is any layoffs will happen the last week of the month.
