With all the layoffs going on and the high probability that I might lose my job within months if not weeks, my motivation has taken a serious hit. I just can't shake the feeling that even if I don't get let go immediately, it's just a matter of time before it happens. And until then, I'm expected to give it my all for months on end. The whole situation makes me want to walk away.

I think Senior managment has a good idea of which jobs that require or not be in the office. Unfortunately, they're priority is to NOT to improve employee morale. The corrupted board and the executives are giving management orders to eliminate American workers. We're like a parasite to them that's impacting their individual wealth. They're making our work environment unnecessary stressful and uncomfortable to force us to quit.
The Senior mgmt and their bean counters have decimated the U.S workforce over the last 20 years. Through yearly layoffs, no raises and bonuses to maybe tiny raises and bonuses.
One way to raise employee moral for free (lol) is to review all the worker jobs.
Then create a list as to Who has to be in the office and who can work remotely.
I know not ever worker has to be in the office many can work remotely.
By doing this it would help raise the moral of the few U.S remaining workers.
I remember visiting my last 2 friends who still have jobs at State Street.
It was so depressing to see the large cafeteria at least 75% filled with
workers from India.
It was so depressing to see departments once filled with U.S workers now 75%
Indian workers.
Its bad enough when they outsource State Street jobs outside the U.S
But is is really depressing when the bring Indian workers to fill the State Street U.S offices.
Layoffs thru 2025.
I love having to tell my Boss the reason I am behind in my work is, I had to send back the useless error filled reports I received from India.
Didn't they teach the Indian staff the famous computer term GIGO
Which means Garage In Garage out
Feed the computer wrong data and receive your information back
Same here. My motivation to be productive has been put in a halt.
While State Street is doing large layoffs or stealth layoffs; they're quietly replacing us with low quality workers (offshore workers, H1Bs and contractors). Its depressing that I'm interacting less with local employees and more with the low quality workers that just don't give a cr-p about the work and our clients. Why should I care about the
company when the workers they chosen to replace us don't care?
Here's a sad reality:
Its the dead of winter, and US employees are required to be in the office to train our low quality replacements who are working remotely at home. We put all the time and effort to speak to them and they obviously don't care.
Toxic is an understatement. All the HR slogans aside, State Street as a company really does not like people. They love to fire thousands and hire in India, and Ireland. What someone said above: take care of yourself, keep your resume up, and ALWAYS BE INTERVIEWING. Don't ever let yourself get a year or two and not have interviewed someplace. And they do hate older workers, the hardest people to find new jobs. It makes me nauseous to see the HR slogans "People are our most important asset!". Take care of yourself and family. Find a better place to work.
Quiet quit, send resumes, get out. Do what you need to do but make finding a new job your priority.

If you been there for more than 5 years, then you know the yearly multiple layoffs have been going on since the early 2000's .
And yes you can be the brightest and most productive worker but this will no longer protect you from being laid off.
Now this is the real problem if your 50yr+ the job market is not very welcoming to older workers. If your under 50yr then yes you might want to start looking and testing the job market.
Remember your physical and mental health have been under as--ult for years from this TOXIC company.
