Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

HR works for executives, not the people

I think there's numerous examples of employees taking things to HR and being punished for it.

HR should be FOR the people, not the execs. Does anyone have any regular cadence meetings with HR? Do you feel supported? My experience is that they show up in exec all hands to tell us what they are "doing" but it's all talk and no action. They should be advocating for us, not against us. This company is so corrupt.

Human Resources always exists to protect the interests of the company. Period. Employees have zero protection without a union.

@OP+1pWNWEJe, HR is structured to represent the management side. Unions are structured to be the counterweight.

2u's HR department is Exceptionally Corrupt-- it has been for quite some time now, from top to bottom- by design.

But it's a well known fact at this juncture, and it will likely have significant impact for those hr reps who have no choice but to present 2u on their resumes. Industry sees this train wreck, and they don't want any parts of it's incompetence!

And it should take less than a solid 2 years for 2u to be no more!

If you were ever under the impression that HR serves the employees’ interests at any company, you are severely misinformed.

That’s why its resources - you are a commodity in their eyes.

ALL HR teams and especially 2u's, are there to protect the company's best interests.

What you're thinking of is a Labor Union.

HR is an unnecessary bureaucratic waste of money that won’t exist in 20 years
