Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

Why don't you leave?

Nobody is holding you hostage at 2U. If I hated this place as much as some of you, I'd be putting all of my energy into finding a new job. I can't understand why so many of you don't. What is it that's keeping you here even though you are utterly miserable working here?

It took me almost 1 year to find another job after they laid me off back in 2015. 2U does not look good on your resume to be honest. I had to embellish many things for that job on my resume.

That's what I'm saying, you can't complain if you decided to thug it out. Sometimes you just have to wait for the rain to stop before the sun comes out !

Just quit. Why give the agony of waiting for your number to be called? Place is a joke. All the execs read these posts and sugar coat why not to read them. Best thing I ever did was leave and find my passion

For the record plenty of posters are former 2Utes - it's not just current employees

Such an ignorant question. You really think people aren’t looking elsewhere? They are. And they’re likely being looked over as soon as another company sees 2U on their resume.

Why don't we just leave? because we are fighting hundreds of other people for open jobs right now. For every 1 job posted, HUNDREDS of people apply. It's not exactly a great economy to just jump ship with nothing stable set up to catch our fall. Most of us live paycheck to paycheck, get your head out of the sand Chip.

"Why don't you just leave your job that puts food on your table and pays for your family's needs?" Your privilege is showing.

As if it were that easy. Those of us who are unhappy here are actively looking for jobs, but it is a hard job market out there, and we aren't going to just give up our salaries voluntarily right now until we have a new role to go to. Let me be clear: we're all looking elsewhere and will leave as soon as we can.

OK, Chip. Maybe stay away from the computer next time you take a bump.

All Chip would do with huge amounts of voluntary turnover, at this juncture, is add the issue to the top of the crybaby list as to why the company is in the current shape it's in.
Then, based on this massive exiting issue that is "out of his controls and the Real straw that broke the camel's back," plead for more time (with full pay and all of the perks) from his inve$tor$ - to start some new random company, with their money.
A new beginning, with All new people...with the exception of the core barnacles who for decades have followed him from venture- to venture-to venture $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!
He should name the new venture something catchy, like "Pro Athlete Community?!"

The Singular hope that still keeps us here, Post ID: @OP+1pAeMwYJ, is that YOU will leave - so that there's a possibility of having a well run company after all. That's the answer!!!

Will YOU finally resign for us?!?!?
