Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Singapore First?

There are rumblings that Singapore will be the first impacted by lay offs next week. Additionally I think IT will see a significant impact. And the message to the rank and file is that Hammr is our ONLY path forward, so if that is the case what happens to SSD, HDD, Lyve, Cloud, Etc?

If anyone think HAMMER is the only way, then it heading to closure of STX.
To date, I hv not seen any real technology that is able to provide HAMMER design with long reliability hrs.
Yes, it may work in ahort run, but will be worst HDD in terms of Reliability unless it only target Archive industry.

The HAMR timelines are based on years not months. So what year will we be ready to switch to 100% HAMR? That’s the Billion Dollar question isn’t it. We have heard nothing for Riff talk at NRM If that helps. Good Luck fellow Gaters.
