Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

They. Do. Not. Care. About. Culture.

They are a failing company thanks to their own doing. Offshoring to India is going to run it into the ground even more. All they care about is the money they line their pockets with. There has been a steady and steep decline to every company that GP touches- in all realms. Profitability, benefits, work life balance, employee retention and satisfaction, etc.

Why wouldn’t gp cut McKinsey loose at this point? It’s known that consultants throw spaghetti at the wall and hope something sticks. But thus far, nothing has even marginally improved by retaining them.

I certainly hope gp is shopping around their vertical markets to sell to keep gp afloat. I do not foresee gp being around for much longer at the rate things are going

Well said, @bm+1kt6r66mv.

@OP What is hilarious is GP just hired McKinsey AGAIN for a growth accelerator project. Wasn’t that the purpose of the Transformation that failed miserably? So now the company has committed millions of more dollars to them, but is set to lay off thousands of employees after July 4 holiday. Honestly what is the “leadership” team doing??

There are multiple cuts planned out through 2027 already to meet Worldpay synergies. If you think it’s ending with this upcoming one, you are wrong. Your mental health is worth something. If it’s causing you this much emotional distress, please find another job.

@ap it’s more that after watching team members get cut again and again over the last year and a half, maybe even being threatened a few times yourself… your department constantly on the list of ‘can we cut this’?

We’re tired, bitter, and tired of living every day in limbo. It’s hard to make big life decisions if you don’t know if you’ll have a job tommorow EVERY tommorow.

Once there’s a finality, a promise of no more cuts, or we’re finally cut, that’s when people can finally feel free of it.

At this point let it burn. Everyone I talk to in the office is burned out, ready for a break. People who love to come in and work, been here for over 10+ years and ready for change that just.. doesn't.. happen.

The amount of extra work teams have taken over from others and then asked to find a way to go faster is fu--ing laugh-able.

I'm riding this gravy train until I'm forced out, no more extra work and doing favors. I'll do the work I can with the time I have in the day and that is it!

Simply said, touch grass GP.

@ap Those inside just want it all to be over. They are tired of hearing about it, worrying about and living it. It's a toxic environment right now so hard to see the future.

The way some of these comments come off. It’s as if most of you can’t wait for the fallout of it all in a few weeks. It’s gross.

Mckinsey is not gone. Still deeply involved in everything. They are driving what comes next. Buckle up...... It all happens soon.

I thought McKinsey was gone already, quietly and wow, what a big fail they were.

You are lucky if in VM and a chance to be sold off. Hopefully before they send all our jobs overseas.
