Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

This website never did anything but harm me

I just endured years of horrible anxiety waiting for Paramount to fire me.

Now I am transitioning into a brand new career that I couldn't be more excited for.

As I look back, I realize that this website never did anything but harm my mental health.

The information I got here was almost always wrong. It was often just a cesspit of negativity and misinformation. Looking back, I realize I would have been so much happier if I had grown out of this site earlier. Again, 99% of the time I got info or rumors from this site, they were wrong. Remember when y'all were so sure the casino in 1515 was happening, for instance?

Leave Paramount, yes, its a jump ship situation. But leave the layoff, too, because this is just a site that converts your mental health into ad revenue.

This site gave me a heads-up on things my manager didn't share transparently. Layoffs, promotions, etc. This has been god-sent, and it's a shame that a lot of companies don't have this lol

You did not come here for truth. You all keep coming here for cope. For hope. For delirium. We all need to believe into something. You are suffering from survivorship bias - you don’t know how you’d have coped without this place for so long. This place is a dumpster fire and I am grateful for it.

I personally have found a lot of the layoff information to be surprisingly accurate. I don’t want to seem like I am invalidating your feelings, but it does seem a tad over dramatic to blame this optional, rumor based gossip site for impacting your mental health so severely. Sounds like you should’ve been more proactive in leaving your job but glad you finally got out.
