I've been running scenarios in my head for days. If I get laid off next week, what do I do. I have some savings, maybe two or three months worth. I could pick up some consulting work, maybe. My partner does work, but their income alone wouldn't cover everything. We could sell my car, move to a cheaper apartment, ask family for help. But none of those are good options. I'm realizing I'm not as prepared as I thought. So I'm asking genuinely, what's everyone else's plan B? Are you ready for this, or are we all just hoping we'll be spared?

@f0 Please don't do that last part, but finding work in your local community and taking time to reset is an excellent plan. Life's too short for all of this bullsh-t.
Probably just not work for a few months. Try looking for a new job, maybe something local. If I can't do that, see how long my savings runs, maybe off myself, that's about it.
Upskill yourself. Work on your KSAs. Never look forward hoping you'll get the last job you had again. Diversify your career. Never expect one company to be there for you in the long run.
Always work on the assumption it'll be you, think about what you can cut and what you can't, try to live below your means and start applying ASAP.
No point being hopeful, prep for the worst case scenario
