Top performers jumping off the ship

Heard 4th resignation in last 2 weeks. These people were top performers who found better opportunities outside ... guess with so much uncertainty here and with zero growth opportunities, people are going to leave and these are not slackers

If you have talent then job market is not that bad..

I am a top performer and have fielded offers for the same pay plus a little. I am considering asking my AVP to put me in the list as the environment has become very poor. I like VZ and what we do but the constant stress has my eye wandering. I will not leave without a package as I feel I am owed this money since the VSP where I had to take on so much more work and only received 4% raises each year.

@c6 did you actually receive a 4 or 5 or did you simply have a 3 with glowing commentary? This matters.

job market su-ks right now. everyone is chasing the AI dream and shedding workers, especially in tech. My guess is every single high performer is actively LOOKING for a job (I am - we can argue if I am a high performer somewhere else... my boss does not appear to think so...), but smart folks will wait until they have a signed offer before jumping. That is why this is a trickle. VCS has lost about a third of their Band 5 and above in the last six months. I expect a lot more in the coming months

TMO ironically has a higher base and at risk.

Sad to see the absolute catastrophic collapse in morale, good motivated people are all working on their exit strategy now

As someone who was RIF’d in November . if your 10 years +, I’d wait till the end of this year and hope for a severance. Then get a new job, you can definitely get a raise by going to a new job.

  • I recommend always having your linked in updated and start interacting to get your name out there. Job opening come at random times. Blindly applying to jobs want land anything and requires TONs of networking.

Job market is getting rough, and if you can find it with the right $$ and benefits, you jump now before its gets worse.

@c6 op here.. I never said that people who were laid off were low performers

I am talking about people who are left behind.. out of those , people who can get jobs outside.. they are leaving

Nov rif was more about location than performance. And if you're the newest member of your team and not in NJ good night. When a team needs to sacrifice someone it's often the new person.

not everyone who got laid off last November are low performers. I have gotten great performance reviews. It was just that I was the newest member of the team. I feel like the posts here are discriminatory

Windstream/Kinetic employee here looking for advice or feedback on all your former leaders coming over here. They are not making friends and ripping the company that we spent nearly a decade building apart. They have come in like a wrecking ball and it seems if you are not part of their inner circle then you don’t mean anything to them. They might be smart folks but their people skills are awful and the only opinions they care about are their buddies they brought over. Are you happy they are gone or do you miss them? Help me understand my future lol

We need brain power of engineers at the top and not political sci and accounting and project managers .
They have been running the show and ruined it .

Why would good people stay when there’s no plan and an uncertain future, especially if they are at an office that’s closing. This company might think it’s going to become an AI utopia but it doesn’t realize it’s turning into a human disaster

If you're a high performer you know you will get to stay and have to deal with all the disaster left behind like we are from the Nov RIF. No wonder good people are saying sayonara. They probably don't realize this side effect from all the big RIFs.

@OP yeah I've had a few offers but I've stayed for benefits and I enjoy winners circle. I might jump ship to the next offer though.
