Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Training your replacement without getting severance package.

I am hearing that there are many groups in Tech that have now been required to work with Accenture to train/knowledge transfer Accenture people into their roles, yet they are not being told they will still keep their job after KT and are not being offered any kind of incentive package to do this, but just do it out of the kindness of their heart and hope they still have a job afterwards. Seems nuts to me, they must be getting a package, right? Anyone have any insight into this?

Accenture will be taking all of your jobs. Get out while you can.

I have not been impacted (yet) but I must say this practice is the most disgusting, dehumanizing, demoralizing thing I have ever witnessed. To the point, I wish I could say if it were me I would tell them where to go and skip the severance, but who can afford to do that. It is cruel and I don't know how anyone involved in it can sleep at night. Sad to see how a company once known for its support of its associates, work life balance and great work environment has sunk. Once upon a time, T. Rowe was one of THE Places to work...getting hired was a big win. I would not recommend them to anyone now.

@bm I'm impressed you could type that f word. It censored me when I used it! If I could have hit up vote on your post 100x I would. The way they discuss their "Accenture Partners" being trained like it is matter of fact, nothing, normal, not bad is sickening. I thought my immediate boss was better than this - but people show their true colors when they get to keep THEIR job. He can so easily sc--w over the people who made him look good for over a decade in some cases. People who took on extra work and worked double digit hours to get the job done. Whatever. Judging by my Helpdesk and ServiceDesk encounters over the past 7 or so months, I hope he and his buddy he is keeping employed end up miserable. It's one big circlej--kat this place.

Nothing new. Vile, arrogant, selfish, beyond cruel management at T. Rowe have done this to staff in the past. NOT IN TECH. Forced to train replacements while being forced out is nothing new to these bunch of evil farts.

@OP I'm in Tech. We were given "Transition Agreements" where if we hold our end of the bargain (KT) we get the severance. A couple lucky? members of the teams that perform my function did not get "invites" and will be participating in KT and will not be let go the end of July. I guess they want a couple of long timers around to prevent disasters. Who knows if they will keep their jobs long term. I would still be seeking new employment regardless. The trust is gone.
