Anyone else hearing rumors? Over-hiring and the big investment in embracing AI is starting to play large parts in our daily roles. Anyone else hearing the same?

@27c are you able to share which CS teams in Austin were impacted?
Can confirm many entire teams in Austin were let go in CS
Stop being toxic dude / dudette
Let's be honest, these cuts are much needed. The org carries too much bloat. Far too many in this company who have non-jobs who contribute very little. In today's modern world where AI is cutting out a lot of these unviable roles, Visa needs to move quickly to stay competitive. It's time to jettison the dead weight and allow these people to get an opportunity to do other things more suited to their skill sets.
Confirming layoffs have happened in CS across the world. Number of those in Pasay were told end of last week. An email was sent out by the SVP to the group.
@1wc yes this coming week

Everyone is an office that is not doing backfilling of positions for their org is on a countdown, have no illusions about that.
Doesn’t mean job loss to Asia, in Europe and America operation are also being centralise in a few places.
Regarding the current layoffs, lists are close, it’s not middle management decision, they are blind.
IMHO this is poorly done, everyone knows which offices are on a countdown , there’s a lot of talent that could be transfer instead of fired, there’s a reason survey satisfaction vary a lot per location . This is all very shortsighted and rush.
Also let’s increase buyback on the next earnings call.
Please, no one is ever going to disclose their regions or specifics here so they don't get doxed by this company of conspirators. Just understand that if you're a person working from a western country region, from now on you are at high risk of losing your position. Be it due to AI, medical reasons or simply to hire someone cheaper than you from a slum.
@11p What is your region ?
It was the same for me. I had things that I had said to my manager in confidence and in good faith used against me.
My feeling is that senior management were given a quota of people to fire. If local middle managers didn't have a justification to sack people, they created it. All very sleazy.
Can you guys please specify your regions and teams? Would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Same, I was notified by surprise last week. It was a Quarterly Review meeting for me.
Prior to that, manager went hostile, stopped being interested in talking about work. Instead decided to attack me for coming in 10 minutes late and being anti-social while target shaming me on our team chat for any random thing.
Truth is, they are replacing everyone in my region with cheap-a-s incompetent Indians, most of the European side of my team was laid off or pushed out from the company.
@ws Which department are you from ? Were you notified today ?
I was one of those also affected.
A last minute Teams meeting with my manager was dropped into my calendar. When I joined there was already an HR person on the call and I knew straight away what was coming. There was a short call explaining the terms of my redundancy (notice period, pay-off, etc.). After that, documents from Visa's legal firm landed in my inbox. The gist seems to be that if you sign their agreement and don't contest the layoff, you get the redundancy payout. You are also forbidden from discussing the terms with your colleagues.
I had no warning whatsoever that I was going to be let go until the last week when my manager started acting very strange around me. Before that I had been busy with my work which is why this has come as a such a surprise. So much for Visa as a company tha "uplifts everyone everywhere".
@w0 - did you already have your lay off notification meeting?
I'm currently being laid off. O&I Europe, manager and HR fighting hard to not pay me severance, despite two straight years under OO PA record
What are department
VAS affected?
@bn is it happening this week or next week ?
Yes everywhere embracing AI, already knew it was coming with the large focus on GENAI=YES commits
Yes - hearing reorgs & layoffs impacting technology
@a1 what have you heard or know is happening? Markets, roles, etc.
