I think the warranty issues are a bit overblown. Sometimes the reason for the recall are very obscure edge cases that are fixed by a software update. Things that probably would have never been fixed years ago. I do think Ford is trying to go above and beyond to shine a light on all the quality issues. Maybe it's part of their strategy to show how bad quality was before the new management put their fingerprint on the newer MYs and then can have amazing data if say warranties/recalls drop by 50+%
Bonuses this year were 130% so I don't think execs are using it as an excuse not to pay employees. If you got an excellent rating youre bonus could have been 190% of the target.
