Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Raises, promotions and bonus's were BS so might as well...

Milk Dell for money every way you can if they aren't gonna share the wealth of their supposedly "great" 2025 year in which they earned a record breaking 120+ BILLION dollars. Only to turn around and give minimal raises, no promotions and a pathetic bonus modifier... 126% is pathetic. I did the math and it SHOULD have been around 140% modifier.

A) We have a $500/year fitness reimbursement program. - This program does not include shoes or athletic clothing anymore so, I went and got myself an expensive weight set that I don't need. Submitted the receipt, got reimbursed, and went and used that money for some nice new athletic shoes instead and still have another $300 to spend!!

Training - go hog wild. Find some courses that you'd never pay for and have them pay for it. At the very least you can say you took the course and gained knowledge - resume builder as well! Dell doesn't check or care if you ACTUALLY get the certification btw. But if you actually go through the course(s) it's just more knowledge you have for other roles - inside Dell or externally. Go get those SANS courses!! 10k a pop!

There is a budget on insperity points as well (which we are taxed on btw) so, what exactly is there to work for if raises are minimal, bonus's are half cocked, and promotions are MIA if you live in the USA?

I would quit but I actually love my job and what I do. I get paid good money for working like 25 hours/week and enjoy everyone I work with so, I also hate that RTO is 5 days/week but I choose when I go in and how long I stay so...

@nj okay, which groups are those that are good and which are bad. Prove what you say.

@kj Imagine how much more money would be added to the bottom line if Dell stopped playing make believe software development with thousands of inexperienced, ill-qualified, junior-level "Dell" developers in ISG? They don't do anything. They don't release anything. If they do, it's a piece of s hit that has to be recalled. Dell ISG is Gavin Newscum's train to nowhere - spends millions, goes nowhere. Thank God we still have some EMC groups in ISG who keep bailing out Dell year over year.

@jy That won't happen. We're the only ones holding ISG together right now.

@jf The "underground" EMC that actually gets sh-t done, and anxiously awaits the day Dell is forced to spin us back out. Dell is toxic.

@j7 I agree with you, but EMC really doesn't exist anymore.

@h2 No, I mean EMC. There are those who still operate as EMC, refusing to assimilate with Dell for good reason. Dell has destroyed nearly all that was good about EMC, along with so many other companies over the years because Dell has no FU@#$ing clue how to integrate or continue developing enterprise software solutions.

@gr Except EMC doesn't exist anymore.

@g5 You mean EMC makes more money than CSG. Dell ISG loses money each year pretending it knows something about enterprise software.

Merit increases (or none) and Bonus levels were a way to ask if you are 'on the list' for April or May.

@bx ISG makes more money than CSG. AI servers are our main revenue. The only thing CSG delivers laptop rebranding.

@a1 well one: Lulu isn’t $200. And two: sounds like you’re not really a fitness enthusiast, so why are you buying $200 pairs of sneakers? Your running marathon? Doubt it. Maybe it was all the submissions of boomers and their New Balance sneakers?

@bq If you're from ISG, that shouldn't surprise anyone. ISG can't deliver water from a garden hose.

Consider yourself lucky if you actually saw a bump in your paycheck. My whole unit got passed over for raises, and the 'bonus' we did get was an absolute joke. Total slap in the face for the work we put in, and this isn't some entry-level help desk gig; we’re talking about the most difficult IT roles in the entire ISG department.

@OP How is anything you suggested different from what most people have been doing for years? Probably has a lot to do with why we only have half the employees we did just a few short years ago.

Exactly! I used to use my fitness reimbursement to buy new athletic shoes and clothing but they took that away so like, wtf am I supposed to use it on now? I don't need gym equipment as my apartment has a gym.

I mean, shoes are a pretty vital piece of fitness, are they not? Clothes I understand but shoes? IMHO, the women fkd it all up for everyone... I can't imagine how many receipts they got from LuLuLemon for $200 pairs of leggings lol. Ironically, women are more into shoes than men as well.

Doesn't matter but, you can't exactly do fitness activities without shoes so I am baffled why they removed that.

Just happy I got my pair of $200 OC shoes thanks to buying a weight set that never got opened, and then returned!
