Nothing going to happen in February in my view. Should be rather March. It is all about making the Q1 financial report card look clean, lean and highly profitable for investors.
Verizon already took a massive $1.8 billion hit in Q4 25 to fund our severance packages. Wall Street hates lingering liabilities so executives are in a mad dash to clear those payouts off the books by the end of Q1.
Also Dan promised investors up to $4 billion in annual savings to fund AI strategy. To actually show Wall Street those leaner and better margins on next earnings call, the headcount literally has to be gone by March!
Finally most of the targeted employees were already pushed out the door back in Dec 25 the Q1 26 is just the final mop-up operation to hit that 15K job-cut goal and officially close the restructuring chapter in US. EMEA takes more time due to legal constrains, it will be slightly stretched there. Still rumors though
