Thread regarding Optum layoffs

This company is ruining my exit opportunities.

I have had on numerous occasions been looked at funny or questioned deeper because I stated I work at this company. On one occasion, I was told good luck getting a job outside of there, everyone hates UHG right now and will question your morals/values. I am at a loss for words. I am trying to leave this company ASAP, but I am not hearing back from anywhere.

@OP Complete nonsense clickbait post. A company isn't questioning your morals working for UHG. If you're not getting bites, maybe it's... You.

@bw it’s easy to say things like that anonymously!! Be quiet if you can’t be supportive and a nice person. I can’t stand reading people’s sh---y comments. Sounds like you’re the sad person.

I had an interview and when they saw I was employed by UHG, they specifically asked if I was looking because a layoff was coming and then followed up with asking how I feel about layoffs? LOL

Well for all you haters talking about maturity. Here is some news: what the poster is saying is true. My dtr works for one such company. Told me when they see resumes with Optum, those are bypassed because they found when hiring persons associated with company, those persons bring a toxic culture with them, They don’t know how ton work within a team. They cannot express new ideas or thoughts. She said they are so use to not being able to express ideas that anyone who tries they immediately put them down. So communication is eroded and morale tanks . So we don’t want those employees, we want people who aren’t afraid to talk.
This is true. How many times in a meeting someone expresses an idea and you are effectively shut down by the bobbleheads. Oh that not happening. Oh this company gives us opportunities, etc.

My plan when asked why I am looking for a new opportunity is to say I would like to work for a company who's actions better align with my morals and values.

I found a job in like 2 weeks..... If your new employer refuses to hire you because they assume you are a bad person because of your employer, then you don't want to work for them anyway.

Or your resume su-ks

@ba and your maturity level is being a boomer on a layoff site every day all day because you are miserable. I can tell a pattern on where you post. You are a sad person.

Corporate America takes your soul. It’s not Optum, it’s all of corporate America! Hang in there, this too shall pass.

Nonsense! They are hiring you not your previous employer. Maybe it is your maturity level that was exposed during interviewing.

Having UHG/Optum on a resume is like applying to work at a bank and the top result for your name is your conviction for defrauding a local charity.

I am very close to making up a career break for my two years here on my resume. No matter what you do here, employers consider you as low value if not radioactive due to your association with UHG.
