My notice period is up, but I have not received my Separation Agreement paperwork. I reached out my the HR representative and was told it would take a few more weeks. This process seems extremely unorganized. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you handle or escalate this issue?

@bd yep, that was me. Was told by Mgr. to expect 30 days from last day working and it was pretty close. Had a friend laid off last March who sent mannnny emails to HR Rep and finally to Sara Wechter. Docs arrived about 5 days after last day of employment and package money came about 2 months later. (PTO Payout came in between)
@bp I think that is just standard language they use in that situation and probably makes them (and you) feel better in the awkward moment. I would definitely reach out with any questions, I do not think anyone will reach out based on the volume of work they have to do. Just my opinion.
Some commenters here mention 'the HR rep'. I've been wondering if HR is going to reach out to contact me or if the FAQ sheet (which I rec'd via email) is supposed to take care of all my questions. The MD who did the honors last Tuesday of telling me I was RIF'd said that HR would reach out but the FAQ makes no mention of HR reaching out. In fact, the FAQ says if you have any questions it's up to you to follow a procedure to request a meeting with HR.
@bm Believe me, I am NOT sticking up for them BUT the reason it takes so long is because they have thousands of people to go through. Each individual letter and what is included in it has to be approved by legal and audited. For example, mine that just came Friday - due to my age (being over 40) - they had to disclose the locations, titles and ages on a spreadsheet of everyone that was in what is called a "decisional unit". So I can see who was selected and who was not selected (no names). See below:
OWBPA Compliance:
In accordance with the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, Exhibit A lists the job
titles and ages of the employees in the decisional unit who were selected, and who were not selected, for the termination program described therein.
Each state has different rules and requirements, and large corporations have to follow everything strictly by the book to avoid any legal or compliance issues. My document was over 20 pages long plus attachments. Hope this helps a little, stay strong.
@bd I was told by the HR rep I would get the documents and even the amount. Not sure why it takes weeks to receive documents that should have already been drafted when they come out with the lay off list.
@OP I was laid off 1/16/26 and just received my severance docusign this past Friday, 2/20/26. I waited 4 weeks and then emailed my HR person and they replied adding in @HR4HR and they replied it would be coming "as soon as administratively possible".
Did you get the original email right after you were let go, with all of the informational links? Either way follow-up with your HR contact.
@OP You should have received it by now. email Sarah Wechter..she is the head of HR and reports to Jane directly. "The squeaky wheel gets the grease"
OP---I assume you were laid off a few months ago, since you say your notification period is over. The Citi Separation Pay Plan policy document says 'If you are eligible for benefits under the Plan, you'll be notified in writing of your benefits. If you don't receive such a notice within 60 days after your employment is terminated...you may file a written claim for benefits...' So you need to keep your eye on that 60 day window. Did you manager specifically say that you were entitled to xx weeks of severance?
To the commenter laid off 2 weeks ago: someone on this board who said they were part of the January 14 layoff said they didn't get their docu-sign until February 18.
@OP I was laid off 2 weeks ago. nothing yet. I reached out to the HR rep and zero response! I was wondering what others have experienced so far as well.
Check you email junk folder… I found mine landed in the junk folder.
