Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

89k Employee Count, 10% India+EMEA, 27% Union

80% of the 13,000 employees that were laid off last year were off the books by Dec 2025

Last year, our employee count was 99,205

VZ had 4,800 employees leave as part of the VSP by Mar 2025

This firm has been shedding employees for over a decade and its share price is -15% over the last 5 years.

What gives? Please don’t say DEI

@cm You know that DEI includes military veterans that fought for your right to blab nonsense like that, right? Are you some kind of pinko co-mie?

Tiger was tapped to fix this. He is on a mission to rid this place of useless employees. Tigers don't care about color as they are striped.

People of color all middle management people that make the big decisions that keep destroying this place cfo, ceo, board of directors are all white people. Thats why we're in this mess. You keep handling the reins to the same white people and expect them to do something different.

@OP Verizon should have never bloated itself as a major corporation. Verizon needed to have stayed competitive, lean and mean. Previously, bad decisions to have selected, Lowell + Hans, as Verizon's CEOs!!!

The wherewithal from not being lean and not mean is costing innocent employees, US citizens, hardworking and honest, their livelihoods.

Yes, WOKE and DEI, are both factors, impacting all publicly traded, companies having corporate shareholders.

used to be two major players, now there are 3 ( from same customer base). also heavily debt laden from poor spending decisions that did not increase revenue

mediocre white men that dont like a women ( particularly women of color) being their boss blame DEI for the poor business decisons of other mediocre white men
