PMI to close Richmond office

The U.S. Corporate Services unit of Philip Morris International is set to close its Richmond office in April, affecting 135 workers. Layoffs are scheduled to start April 17, per a WARN filing.

@OP it’d be relatively easy for the company to determine if anyone else should be released by doing the following: random dr-g/alcohol testing, scanning company laptops for p*rn, looking in company vehicles (…trunks) for open containers and paraphernalia, and looking at the appropriateness of communication within the workplace and on company trips, etc. Keep the people with integrity, reward good behavior. Get rid of those bringing company culture down. It’d be shocking if they actually looked at the quality of the people they hire, and kept them accountable. Think it’s not happening? Think again. Don’t layoff the hardworking loyal people with actual integrity and a backbone.
