You constantly hear about people being let go, a team here, an org there, in numbers just small enough not to draw too much attention. There's endless talk about a reorg with zero details, and barely any communication from leadership. We're left fumbling in the dark, just waiting to see if our job is next. It's no wonder morale is in the gutter and the entire atmosphere feels so heavy.

@p4 well that was an A-hole comment and not necessary IMO

Too bad, Bertolini sold us down the river and ran off on his motorcycle with bags of money. CVS was the detriment of Aetna failing. Too bad Aetna wasn’t able to buy Humana. Both healthcare agencies together would’ve been better than a retail operation who took over and ran us into the ground
No sh--e Sherlock
Upon further investigation in Yahoo, it states that the 2,900 expected layoffs began in 2024 with small amounts here and there over the years, and that the 313 in the recent warn notice are also part of this total. Yahoo states that the 2,900 layoffs were planned to occur from 2024 through 2026, so it seems like there may not be many left.
Went into Yahoo Finance today and called up the CVS Stock. The news headlines appeared at the top of the page and had information about the proposed Medicare rates affecting the stock, but also stated:
"Cost-Cutting Measures: CVS is implementing significant layoffs, totaling 313 employees in Connecticut, as part of a broader strategy to cut 2,900 roles and streamline operations."
Small layoffs impacting specific parts of the organization are relatively normal in a company of CVS' size. Always looking for how to scale back and be efficient. Also, the more recent layoffs have been specific to Aetna who has been losing/dropping lines of business so layoffs would be an expected result of the business changes.
Any group 8n particular you are referring to?
It seems the bigger ones get published. Are you saying they layoff in numbers under 50 to avoid a WARN going out?
Welcome to CVS. This is exactly why I don’t understand how or why people think this a good place to work.
