Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

People getting desperate..

Starting to see all the people that got laid off in October, starting to freak out about not finding something. Severance is most likely gone, and unemployment getting ready to run out.

@ah The voting system on this site is easily manipulated so all downvotes could easily be one person with a grudge and too much time on their hands.

This site should be viewed from a "for entertainment purposes" only perspective.

@bb You've got your head in the sand, Chumley. You think that AI is nothing more than what was in the old Max Headroom show.

"And I love, love, l-l-love... love those blip-blip-blip-blipverts!"

@bn AI writing 100% of code yet they still have software engineers. Nobody cares if humans are needed for writing code, it's the actual base problem solving that matters. If you actually had experience doing anything other than whining from across a screen you'd realize this.

So can we get INTC to 100 on JS or do we need to fab nvidia AI kit to do that?

AI is writing 100% of the code at Anthropic and Open AI meanwhile this thread is filled with Intel boomers explaining that an article they clipped from CNN says otherwise.

@ah
in some places it is called insanity
in other places we call those folks d-mb or corrupt

both parties have people in congress that are skillless yet very wealthy

and its funny, we outsource the work of intelligent scientists and engineers
but somehow the d-mber bureaucrats, liaryers, and fraudulent banksters keep their jobs

i wonder how long they think this will last

AI has nothing to do with replacing people. AI is a huge scam, it will come crashing down.
I'll start believing in AI being able to do something useful when someone has an AI customer service phone aswering system that actually works.
BTW, it has been shown that SW Engineers that use AI for coding are 19% less efficient than those that do not use AI.
AI is a scam the tech bros are using to get money from venture capital.

@ar Some are saying that capitalism is being edged out by corporatism, where the largest companies essentially control various regions, which may not be the as sovereign boundaries.

The politicians are captured and AI seems destined to become a surveillance tool of the 99%.

Others are just saying 'Bad Orange Man'.

Just an A.I. reminder. If nobody is employed you no longer have consumers. If you have no consumers you have no economy. F*&k around and find out!

@ak Doubtful, the AI at Taco Bell's drive thru is smarter, works harder and has better command of the English language than the typical Intel blue badger.

Vote blue or vote red it doesn't matter. Both sides are just as corrupt as the other the only difference is one side tries to hide it while the other puts it on full display.

The workforce is sc--wed no matter who's in office because billionaires are running the world and pulling all the strings. If you spent all your money on useless cr-p and didn't save and invest when times were good then that's on you.

@a9 Big stretch to assume down votes mean they disagree vs merely finding your writing low quality.

@a9 The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias where people with limited knowledge or competence in a domain greatly overestimate their own knowledge or skill.

That sounds like people who keep voting for one or the other side of a crony-capitalist government and still expect change.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect is on full display by the downvotes. The average human IQ is 100. The latest SOTA models score 120. Less than 1% of humans score 140. You have already been replaced.

What we really need is AI to produce powerpoints and talking, with additional agents in attendance.

Then all the real engineering would have free time to happen.

the economy is in the toilet
the US is STILL outsourcing and insourcing
it is a wonderful feeling getting sc--wed by your own government
AND the US debt keeps going up and up

@a4 This is what Elon Musk is developing at "MacroHard" completely AI controlled mouse and keyboard... no APIs needed.

If you did your job at a desk you have been replaced by AI. There is even talk of companies replacing employees they laid off with llms trained on just their emails and getting better results than the actual human.
