Everyone is being told they have to make do with less, and the next 12-18 months are going to be very challenging, rough, bumpy, tenuous. Masked words to likely mean layoffs, possible merit and/or AIP freezes or worse. Does anyone else find it interesting that the new interim CEO and these events all line up? Isn’t he a finance guy? Are we experiencing exactly what they hired him to do?

@OP The interim CEO seems DK version 2.0.
So thankful that I was apart of the 2018/2019 original layoffs with Sandy Dilworth and Michelle Wright. At first I thought wow, why me but now I look up in the sky and say thank you God that I was chosen and got out of this mess. I actually saw how great Carefirst was when I was hired in 2013 and supported Chet! Everyone was wowed by Brian P, the wolf in sheep clothing one of the best BSers I’ve ever heard in my life man He took Carefirst to the next level huh?! Lol
@13f I’m all for community giving and outreach however isn’t the saying ‘ take care of your own ‘family’ first’? People are struggling, even the full time remote jobs where associates need to keep heat on all day with the rising costs of BGE. Associates need get together to make some demands. New hires are coming in around same pay as people who have been here for years in same position. They raised minimum hourly wage, so essentially salaried should have seen increases as well. Shameful.
Not to mention the rate increases in open enrollment, co-insurance, higher out of pocket max. Annual merit increase is going straight to increase in benefits. Shameful. ELT and VPs in this organization are only out for themselves, talk in circles, and are dragging the rest of us through the mud.
@af There has to be clandestine activity that the rank and file are not completely aware of. This is like the scene in a movie where the front line troops are fighting as hard as they can, but are being overrun by the opposition. Fat Cat leaders are sitting back and will drop mortars on our position to prevent advancement towards them.
@as 100%
@am They've got you until you all band together and STRIKE!!! Shut that operation down until they give in to your demands. You've gotta hold them hostage if you want change. The workers have the power to do this. They just want you to think you don't.
@OP at this point, they know they've got us. The market is rough for finding work right now. And do you really think the executive level folks are taking pay cuts/freezes while the rest of us deal with out of control grocery/utility bills and no cost of living raises?
@OP at this point I think they see there’s still some employees left, working more than ever and still show up everyday…so they just don’t care. They have stripped away great long term valuable employees, taken away PTO, froze pensions and even took away a low value giftcard at thanksgiving time and yet some people are still holding on. I think they will continue to strip away from employees while giving more to the inner city programs to look good for ‘diversity equity and inclusion’ . There’s a reason they didn’t start with performance based thinning like they should have.
