Thread regarding IBM layoffs

AK at the WEF

AK spewing his typical stuff at the WEF in Davos. For the CEO of an American corporation, he seems real concerned about India's AI sovereignty.

@sv ummmm, IBM produces NOTHING of value any more...they only buy up other companies and make out like bandits for a year or two by pushing whenever few clients they have to buy the garbage they bought. Kramer can sing a lot of praises about IBM but it's a load of BS and meaningless in the long term. IBM is NO longer a relevant or valuable company nor is it run by ETHICAL executives. Other tech companies have overtaken it and and are leaders. And the Wall Street vultures hover and come to feed on IBM's carcass.

Oh Dearie Me !

The statements about Matt Loathsome Liteson being light on his cloud project results have disappeared from this thread. Guess the truth hurts when you put out presentations which are full of lies and untruths. In short, Matt is full of bull. So is Joanne Wrong.

No shirt Arvind; we've known AI was baloney for years. It has just been cover for you to put more of your chosen people in place. AI = All India.

If you can find another job, leave while you can. Innovation is very dead. Hardwork and achievement are futile.

The ones that will hang on til the end have their little cliques. In the CIO, we have Matt Loathsome; in AADP you have Jill Fourie-able and her evil managers such as JD LaPlante. Parasites that will fill me with joy when they meet the end of their careers.

@cm whenever you have corrupt south Indians - crooked Tamils (Alvind) and Keralites (Dinesh) - you can be sure they will cook up a mess as good as any Mafia family. These people need to be removed and sent back home promptly for their failure to observe ethics and play fairly in a corporate setting. The IBM layoffs in the US are a perfect example of what I mean.

That is the reason why the next IBM CEO is going to be White (non-Indian). Could have been Dinesh, but no!

@c9
This is not only in software area. It is happening everywhere in IBM.

They find one system and they abuse it to force people out. They create small power groups to control different parts of IBM. If you are not inside these groups, you cannot get in and you cannot move forward.

The systems were originally made for fairness, but now they are used in opposite way, against their real purpose.

This is also happening in other groups. Look at Albany leadership and the org chart. I am not part of that site, but you will clearly see two groups running it. They help only the same type of people.

It is very obvious. Very open. No hiding at all.

If USA, China, or Indian AI was so good, where are the IBM enterprise offerings? There should be 10’s to hundreds of them especially focused on mainframe and LINUX. Instead what we seem to have is acquired innovative purchased offerings (look at the last 30 IBM SW purchases) with the acquired SW support teams moved to India over time. So is there an “indian” AI club taking over IBM? Nope! There is just inept management pursuing an acquition/offshore strategy to save a buck. Heck of a job IBM management NOW focus on eliminating 50% of your compatriots, and maybe we’ll get some serious savings without losing talent.

Few years back, I was interested in joining IBM cloud organization. I had an interview with an Indian manager. She kept discouraging me from joining the organization (I am not Indian). When, I contacted a couple of engineers (non Indians), they confirmed my suspicion. IBM US cloud was an Indians tribe. There are few other IBM US organizations that are Indians tribes.

@OP If Indian's AI was as leading edge as Alvind and his Indian buddies claim then why would he be cutting US jobs and moving them to India while claiming lower costs in India ? IBM AI is virtually nowhere compared to the AI put out by other tech companies. India's AI is junk if anything, and that is why Modi and Company are trying to entice more companies to invest in India and bring jobs. What is in place is not sustainable. The bottom line - really not worth wasting time and investment in the world's biggest and worst bureaucracy. China might not be a friend of the US, but neither is India.

Parasites!
Nothing but parasites.
If some heroes locked them all up,
the world probably would be a better place.
