Did anyone else get more people added to their list this week for the Friday RIF? Not sure who will be left to do the work. I guess with most Optum products being sunset they don't need people. It is going to be very hard to get any work done the rest of this week.

Any idea how they chose people on teams to lay off?
@a8 "They are outright giving up on getting any non-UHC customers."
100% SH has had enough of SD shenanigans. SH moved a key UHC person into OI under SD... technically SD is OI/OT CEO, but she takes orders from SH and is doubling down on UHC as Priority #1.
Optum was created to serve UHC and even if Optum has a brighter future, hubris demands we maintain the HMO SH built at all costs to prolong its existence if even for a few extra quarters. It's increasingly likely that RX will be spun off which shrinks Optum significantly. PBMs will get crushed by govt and either we'll be smart and sell early, or stupid and wait til the govt forces a fire sale by regulation.
Optum will go into "maintenance mode" as jobs move to India and anything we sell externally into market will come from vendors so that we need fewer teams.
UHC will be served as much as possible by AI which will eventually shrink the PH-IN footprint.
@OP All we can do is hope karma comes early for them!
Company is a joke. Sick of the bad leadership. Dist Eng has a god complex and it’s leading us straight into the ground.
@OP I thought that the list of names were already in?
Entire financial/insurance products/projects will be put into maintenance mode on the corporate side. They are outright giving up on getting any non-UHC customers. With UHC as the only customer the expectations of quality/uptime are nonexistent.
New to this chaotic Optum UHG world . Layoffs are handled in groups or Teams and not individually ?
I thought The lists are supposed to be final by now
Expect to see closure and consolidations of multiple employed primary care clinics. No one is safe this week, not even the front line. I pray for all who might be impacted.
I'm very curious if you were given a fixed % to target. Can you share any more info?
