I know Hemsley sent an email a few months ago that said we have something like 370,000 employees. But approximately how many of those are in the US? And what do you think the split is between employees of UHC and Optum?

@OP According to the 2025 proxy statement (reflecting data through late 2024), 106,507 UHG employees were located outside the United States.
28% of UHG’s workforce was overseas as of the proxy’s reporting period (~106,500 out of ~381,150 global employees). UnitedHealth Group operates internationally through various subsidiaries and service sites (e.g., Optum operations, shared services and support centers, and UnitedHealthcare Global), contributing to its overseas headcount.
That is why the Enterprise value (a broader valuation that includes debt and cash) is around $349 billion USD. the company’s net income over the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2025 was approximately $17.59 billion.
That healthcare is so expensive and inaccessible to millions of Americans.
@r0 Amen to that.
Not enough. They should all be in the United States.
Probably a lot, because you have to step back and realize how many of those employees work in clinics or hospitals we bought. This is not just corporate and call center staff.
If we just looked at the service centers and corporate; it’s probably closer to 50% or less in US versus Ireland, Europe, AP region
