Reports last week was 15K, actual number was 13k. Is it possible there will be no more major layoffs for 2026 at VZ?

Daughter, who was laid off yesterday, said more in March, 2026. How do people keep working with this kind of pressure? The GREAT people who dodged the bullet will definitely look for another job.
Another 750 or so is coming from the sale of VZ Connect. That will happen in Q1.
@OP CEO suggested to get back on track he'll need to take a wrecking ball to the place. What do YOU think?
There will absolutely be more cuts in 2026. This is just Round 1.
Wishful thinking. Dan more than hinted that there would be multiple rounds of restructuring. Go back and watch his speech.
@a2 Yep, many many, many more in 1Q '26. Best wishes to those still hanging on.
15k was kite flying to minimise the impact to shareholders. The reality is that 13k was the start and much smaller releases will happen over the coming weeks/months leading up to a big announcement at the end of Q1
Reread the numbers, non union (management support) was 20%. Union has a contract that has to be followed. This also doesn’t count what contractors will be pushed out(if any), store employees which were sold to a franchise, off shore employees, etc.
definitely more to follow in a couple of waves. Expect more between the now and the end of year with India taking a hit on 1st Dec, More during Q1 following Frontier completion. With a very big announcement coming by the end of Q1 that will qualify all of the cuts.
IDK. I’m hearing chatter that the other 2k are folks based outside of the US and they will lose their jobs soon??
