Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Layoffs coming in IBO and GSCs

Town hall this morning announced that we're going to combine IBO and the GSCs, and that we will eliminate some redundancies.

Buckle up, it's time for another round of musical chairs aboard the RMS Titanic.

Despite 3M share price hitting recent highs, BB need to continue to trim the workforce in anticipation of next year market expectations. Hang on tight for those still needing a job in 3M.

They laid out 1-5 EPR for a reason. Instead of cutting your job, the will make you unqualified for your job and then fire you.

@jx gutting what's left of ERP deployment is another sign BB wants to break up 3M sooner rather than later. He'd rather use the money to buyback shares so his bank account gets bigger. Or use some of the dough to hire a few more cronies.

The guy is a one-trick pony. He'd layoff his brother-in-law if it made him a few more bucks.

Young and naive looking to make a name for herself at the expense of people's livelihoods. I guarantee you shes never really led more than 10 people. Now she's responsible for 3000. The moment you hear that leadership is working with McKinsey you should know whats coming. Good luck to all.

@b0 left at 35 plus years as well. At least the pension is good and retiree medical decent (for now but give BB time and he'll sc--w that over too)

Life is good just find things to do that you always wanted more time to do. In my case, actually going to the library and reading interesting books. Also, check out a local community organization like Rotary Club, Special Olympics, Toastmasters, etc. The interaction with other adults outside your usual friends and family is very beneficial.

Finally lots of walking. Haven't missed the long emails with 50 slide PowerPoint attachment as a "pre read". And especially don't miss those supposedly hush hush meetings where we were told we needed to ante up more souls to the Wall Street gods because we weren't otherwise going to meet the quarterly earnings estimates promised to WS.

@OP i doubt they had a good reason for doing this. Or why keeping two separate functions was bad. BB is clearly frustrated that not enough long-time 3Mers did not resign in disgust when WYW was imposed. He will continue ramping up the temperature in the boiler until more frogs jump out.

Sorry BB. We'll call your Minnesota Nasty and raise you. What goes around comes around. More quiet quitting coming to a 3M theater near you. Remember. Do not take on any more work. Come in at 8. Go home at 5. Not nightly calls or emails. Weekends are holy days.
