Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

HR says nothing through all this

Can someone that gets the axe and works for HR come here and spill the beans about what really has been going on?

Even if you knew or are not impacted just going through this should be enough to leave as soon as possible.

HR works for leadership only and does not care about employees. They leaked the 11/20 RIF date all over the place and should be fired.

HR are the Thought Police…nobody should put any faith in anything they do, they operate in a moral vacuum

@ad Has always been very easy to find on the website. Another good reason for the cuts. Get ride of the hand holding!

Verizon HR has always been useless. What makes anyone think they are going to suddenly change? Have we forgotten the hypocrisy they display on a daily basis? Have we forgotten they exist to prop the company up? They will likely see the fewest cuts as a department, but will be certain to tell us how sorry they are we are getting axed.

Sam is the most tone deaf, out of touch Chro I have ever seen in my life. Even during vsp she made a sad face and then quickly turned it to a smile when saying she was proud of vteamers finding new ways to work more efficiently. The constant stream of lies saying she cares about people while her organization works to offshore and lay people off is shameful. How that behavior is rewarded as a top 40 CHRO is beyond me. The entire corporate system is a complete sham.

I'm in HR and have had to get all my info on this board, same as everyone else. Not sure why everyone thinks HR is an omniscient force, but that hasn't been my experience. Maybe it's my job level, I don't know. But from what I see and hear around the HR side slacks and texts is that we are all in the dark on this one, too.

@ad awareness on what to expect if you get impacted would have been nice, but here we are. American workers get a middle finger and 1/5 chances of getting a layoff notice come Thursday. Wtf

@ac is it really protecting the company when someone lets the cat out of the bag, and the company’s official message is to deny it internally, but confirm it with the media? Is the dangerous hit to morale, turning your workers into walking zombies for weeks due to anxiety, PROTECTING the COMPANY?

HRs main role is to protect the company. No ifs, ands, or buts

@OP Disappointing that we’re constantly told to be transparent in our work and our role and always keep the lines of communication open…yet corp has implemented an information blackout.
