@2tea Take a step back, take a deep breath and know that you and the leaders who think like you are the reason we are a dumpster fire. Please do yourself and us a favor and get a job at some thinktank or in the academic world where reality is not a concern.

Oh for Pete’s sake @2tea. Everyone knows the leadership presentations are all smoke and mirrors. False claims and promises. It is amazing hearing something you work on and know intimately being described by senior leadership. There maybe be a small grain of truth hidden somewhere in the description but the rest is wishful thinking and improbable dreams.

I surmised this was going to happen. This is great news actually. We do not need any other competitors help to deliver the great EV products and services we will be introducing. Don't forget we have been bringing in the top outside talent to develop the new BEV offerings and the software that will deliver them. Doug Field has been fine tuning the Model e structure with the knowledge base we need. Ford will be more successful on our own for the future of mobility.

@lph Project cyclone was damned the day is started. To not flag antitrust everything was compartmentalized. Even if you wanted to know specs about the product VW was offering with the Ford badge you could not learn those specs. That is how backwards it was. Minimal collaboration between the two firms. So not surprised…

I worked on the VW JV. When you test your "partner" like the enemy, the partnership is not long for the world.

In Europe Ford is getting out of most of their ICE in the next two years. I do not see the BEV demand which can compensate for this. Even VW who have some nice BEV models in their showrooms while 2022 subsidies were record high (in 2023 they are not any more), were still selling 90% ICE vehicles. Ford management seem to know about this since as a consequence "aggressive reduction of structural cost" is planned for European plants and development centers. Structural cost means employees. Noone here feels save right now.

@OP. I don't even know if Ford will be around in 3 years, I know even less if I am going to be @Ford next year, to worry myself with that. We are selling BEVs at a loss, and that will not change soon. At the same time, we are losing our grip in the ICE market, while management is planning more lay offs on Ford Blue.

Ford sure has a lot of short term “relationships.” I’m sure it’s not us, it’s them.
