Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Jan 10th or die slowly over 6mos

Read through TK's low grade composition email and got me thinking. Some on JAN10th will be cut, if you're not eliminated then you may be cut over the next 6 months. Going back to basics here folks, how the F__---___K is this constructive?

There's no point in sharing speculation. TK knows he can mess with the lives of the leftover employees whenever he wants. That's the only certainty at this point in time.

Apart from TK's love letter to us it's not any better looking outside the window. Tech is laying off a substantial amount of their workforce including those who left Citrix to other larger firms. Take your leave and hope you land a decent job or gladly accept the 6mos extension with a smile on your face and look for work at month #5.

Hoping tech in general rebounds by end of June.

The way I read it, it's vague and apparently open to interpretation -- perhaps intentionally to instill yet more fear in the minds of Citrix leftover employees.

It's the typical Krause Playbook, once again. To him, it's like a game of cat and mouse.

The way I read it, you're either getting made redundant tomorrow, or you'll be safe for another 6 months when they go through the next review.

And this will likely continue, every 6 months they'll 'trim the fat', as they see it.

I ain't leaving for free - so I'll gladly hang on doing an easy job from home for lots of money with a large severance pot at the end. Easy.

replying too @vla+1kB7pROE

Essentially you are being given 6 months notice of redundancy. If you do it, you get your payout. If you don't you don't.

As there saying we will employ you for 6 more months, if you make it to the end. We make you redundant and you get your redundancy package. If you leave before then, you are essentially leaving/quitting of your own accord. No redundancy package.

I think everyone here misread the email...

You will be invited, tomorrow Jan 10, to a webinar if your role is being eliminated either tomorrow specifically or within the next 6 months. The people who do not receive this invite are considered included in Cloud Software Group's go-forward strategy.

If you are part of the go-forward strategy you can expect to receive more communication later this week (I'm assuming Thursday, but more likely Friday with the way TK seems to work).

If you are given a 6-month extension, what have you really gained? Or more importantly, what have we lost by being part of CSG's culture that drains the human soul of any remaining dignity?

Let's be honest, TK's approach to continued employment is conceived for herding pitiful sheep, not inspiring high-performance employees to stick around. It's the last straw.

UK people - Can they withhold redundancy packages if you do not accept the 6 month transition period? Is this not effectively unilaterally extending the notice period on OUR side?

Nobody is forcing anyone to stay, but if you dont accept the extension and quit, you lose your package...

It is simple... If you are given a 6 month extension, you will get your package at the end of that period.. if not you can quit and lose the package.....simple as that

Seems like a strange way of looking at it. If that' how you view your current employment, then you've been dying slowly here for a long time. Either take the extension as an additional 6 months of employment that "should" still allow you to get the Citrix severance if they decide to axe you at that point.

And in the mean time, nothing is stopping you from looking for a new gig in that time.

Have to be crazy or desperate to accept an offer to stay six more months. In my opinion, anyway.

I do not want to stay for another 6 months! WTF!

It's not. Look, the bottom line is that CSG is a train wreck, and honestly, EVERYONE should leave. It's not a place you want to work, not if you value your sanity.

If offered transition for 6 months tomorrow, we don't need to accept it. We can chose to leave immediately (after the min. notice period) with severance. Some people are being asked to stay on for a few months to allow some work to be completed and/or train their replacement in. It's nothing new for Citrix, they have made people redundant this way even before the acquisition. The one good thing about being on transition is you get more money as an incentive to stay on for those unpleasant months. Either way we find out tomorrow, we won't be in limbo for 6 months if that's what you worried about @OP.

I thought the same thing. “If you’re here after Jan 10th you’re safe FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS”! Atleast he’s honest about it
