Thread regarding Trane Inc. layoffs

Is it over?

Does anyone think/know if it’s over? Anyone know how many have been laid off?

@j0 I’m a RAM and work remotely most of the time. RTO as a RIF tactic is a joke, doesn’t affect most of us. So more layoffs will be coming. My best guess is that any cuts will land in Q1, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some TMs are affected too. Roles above TM are probably safe.

It feels like they’re making room for the acquisition’s employees, and unfortunately this is consistent with Dave’s leadership style. I joined around the same time he did, and it’s been frustrating watching the company steadily decline due to his mismanagement

@1a1 they're still letting people go from the offices. Sales and administrative roles late last week. Long standing employees. Nearly 90 years of total knowledge and experience gone.

@OP Seems like this Return to Office mandate is them trying to force even more people out of the workforce. They want people to quit. Either because they’re unhappy or because in-office work simply isn’t plausible for the needs of their family.
Trane wants people to quit right now, so that there are less people they have to pay severance to for their next big round of layoffs.
I’m guessing they’re mostly done with 2025 layoffs now. They’ll wait for people to quit between now and January in response to RTO. And then they’ll do another big round of layoffs right before merit increase time.

There's no chance that it's over. I see this going on for at least several more weeks/months. With the tariff situation, AI advancement etc, it'll basically never be over. I'm fully expecting to get let go myself at some point, and I've been with the company for 20 years. Very sad.
