Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

New York Office

Anyone know how long the lease is on the NYC campus? Just wondering how long the talent out there needs to keep commuting in, so many have expressed displeasure regarding the onsite requirements.

The lease is not 25 years. It is 5 years. TG is looking to close that money pit down.

Careful what you complain about, the job market is shifting as such there will be an abundance of people happy to come on site 7 days a week just to be employed and have health insurance

You shouldn’t complain about 2 days in office in the NY metro area

It’s the boondoggle of Sister Christian. But thankfully there’s a lease with an end date to put it out of its misery.

It will never happen - it’s landing pad when the ELG flies to nyc to pretend to be Wall Street members and court clients and other businesses. It having office space is a perk, it’s designed to make us look like a legitimate financial firm.

Office closure will likely result in people being fired, not given the magical gift of remote work. Keep dreaming, though!
