I'm fully remote, as are entire departments and have been since covid. Mid-Level Managers are saying they don't know yet if we will be effected. We are all offering prayers. Does anyone have any insight? 🙏🙏

Don’t RTO. Stop complaining and leave the company. Offshore is working great or at least as good as much more expensive employees. Don’t believe the hype, you all aren’t that good.
@OP If my team went to hybrid after COVID, why should we have to return to the office 5 days per week while y’all working remotely get to sit at home every day? Believe me, I am not being accommodating the next time somebody asks me to scan their mail or get something signed for them because they are “Remote.” My problem with the return to office mandate is all of these exceptions for people to remain Remote. I don’t care how far you live or how many kids you have at home, I feel like I’m being disciplined for choosing to live close to the office. Stop making excuses and get to the office like the rest of us. So unfair to think that you’re exempt.
I’m betting that everyone will be heading back to an office.
….”the extra expense” storyline is so lame. Does everyone believe that their salaries were adjusted (lower) because they were wfh while wearing sweatpants?? And should be increased now bc of RTO. Big whiny babies…
Roll the dice. You might remain remote or maybe not. I can assure you that nothing about this process will be consistent and/or make any sense. With that said, get your day bag ready & your mind right for daily commutes. Lol. Oh yeah... Get your wallet ready for the extra expense as well.
@cv I love that! I am going to start responding to all these whining posts with “because Bill is the CEO and says so”
Offering prayers, or soliciting them? So much hand wringing …. Maybe EL should just say, “because I’m the mom, that’s why”.
Offering prayers for what? That you will not have to follow a directive of a company you choose to work for? Seems like prayers could be put to real problems and not to adults wanting to pitch a fit like toddlers.
Reality is Truist is looking for the easy way out. Instead of layoffs, make things so miserable that people leave without having to pay them severance. I'm sure there are Managers that don't want to lose quality people. And I'm sure the ones that leave will likely be the ones Truist wouldn't want to have leave. But make no mistake, the EL dysfunctional crew will make sure there's teeth behind this policy this time, all to drive people out the door without having widespread layoffs. Pathetic, but true.
Some leaders don’t want to lose talent over these changes. So unless you’re underperforming, I would say nothing will change.
If you're without 35 miles then RTO is definitely on the table, otherwise seems fine.
