Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Teradata: Still Crushing Data

Teradata’s still a beast in the data world we're decades in and still running some of the biggest workloads out there. Shifting from an appliance based company to a Cloud, hybrid, real-time analytics, we can't stop winning. The direction of vantage is strong

And about the chatter this week yeah, there are some cuts, but it’s mostly performance trimming, the kind of thing every big tech shop does. Look at Google, Meta, Amazon, and even Qualcomm. We can support our laid off coworkers and still appreciate what we have here. Teradata skills are transferrable anywhere. The core product teams surrounding vantage aren’t going anywhere, and the tech is as strong as ever.

Teradata isn’t slowing down. The platform is rock solid, and that’s why the biggest players keep trusting it!

@cq I'm in the trenches and still here too. Double dipping. Mission accomplished.

@g5 "Just because you're salty about being let go of doesn't make it a bad place"
No, being a bad place makes it a bad place. Firing good people while sh*tty people keep their jobs because they a$$ kiss better then the next guy. Instead of modernizing they claim to be "the trusted AI" company .

I'm totally fine with being downvoted but how is Teradata different from any other company out there? Everyone does layoffs.vJust because you're salty about being let go of doesn't make it a bad place. You guys all need therapy, stop winning about SM and get back to work

😂😂😂
Don't worry about a thing
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing, "Don't worry about a thing
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright"

Rise up this morning, smiled with the rising sun
Three little birds pitch by my doorstep
Singing sweet songs of melodies pure and and true Saying, "This is my message to you-ou-ou"

@cn I'm an engineer down in the trenches, downvote me all you want but I just happen to believe in this mission. My salary is competitive for a SWE but not "huge". Everyone here keeps mocking me but time after time, I still survive? See, look everyone I'm still here ✊

By what’s written, I recognise the OP, not a Marketing folk… Just someone who is defending a huge salary.

Yes, you can see how amazing they are by the constant layoffs. That's the hallmark of a healthy company. Let go 3-10% of the company per year.

Trust... I don't think that word means what you think it means

It’s very simple. If the OP believes what he posted, then he should list new major customer logos, expanding employee numbers, show improving revenue, and demonstrate how Teradata is matching or exceeding competitors in the exploding market.

Can’t do that? Then stop the Marketing BS.

Wow, thanks for the pep talk. "ladies & gentlemen, ignore the iceberg and the screaming people, the band is AWESOME."

"We can't stop winning." Really? How much net-new business is coming in? What's the ratio of deals that are going out that are just renewals vs. expansions?

I jumped ship not too long ago. Now, when speaking to customers, I have yet to find one with TD in their ecosystem. When TD has come up, it was part of a discussion of what the customer had done over the past 5 years and it was a "we moved off of TD (smirk)." It's really not looking great out there and, from the outside looking in, customer interest is non-existent.

I didn't think anyone was left in Marketing ... much less a comedian.
