Why is BP trading treated like royalty when there returns on trading are abysmal. Can AI and a pack of Indians improve profit margins? The majority of trading staff appear to have a superiority complex that is not warranted. Could leadership pressure staff with performance results tied to salary?

there is 0 meritocracy in london, its all friends and buddies getting into TnS
@2pf , ST&S is carving out margins that would otherwise go to a normal P&L at another supermajor.
there was some news today about how great bP tradibg doing
@OP is a shining example of why BP needs to invest in financial literacy. Confusing increased returns with ROI is prime. Sprinkle on top the closet bigotry and this is a grade A buffoon.
It’s 4% to total group return bud
@w3 she’s an SLL with 7 reports, not a VP. Her line reporting has officially changed so she doesn’t report through the CEO
@np , I would assume and have experienced bollocks in T&S!
The lack of transparency, conflicts of interest and underperformance compared to peer trading units is what they are good at!
Is Murrdog's partner still a VP?
@k9 suspect and assume nothing…
@OP if you're referring to the '4% uplift to ROACE' mentioned in results pack that's not the same as a 4% ROI. Trading make a lot of money. MA wouldn't give them any 'royal treatment' if they didn't.
I suspect they make much more than 4%. But it’s beneficial to take “losses” that make it appear to be 4% for tax purposes.
There job is to get upstream product way.. not trade.. 4% incremental seems about right

Ignorance is bliss
4%!? Can’t be that bad surely!? Might as well sack the lot of them and invest in a money market fund if that’s the case!
