There are still some dysfunctional organizations which have not been touched. Expect some restructurings in Q4.

I would be frugal in your Christmas spending or use this time to interview for new jobs if you made it pass this RIF.
@OP the layoffs in 4th quarter are the ones who have been told, the EE side I know they have until Dec 12.
Seems to be the trend. These guys are ruthless but have no problems bragging about all the money they get.
