A few groups have extended warnings. But that's only because they need to wind down and transfer functions. We went through that a few years ago. About 8 months notice was enough time to look outside and inside. Management was surprised when people started leaving almost right away which shows how clueless they were.

Isn’t that what the 2 months severance is? Essentially two months notice, but we don’t have to keep working, since we all know it is hard to work well when you know you are laid off/going to be laid off?
