HR systematically removing 46+ olds to reduce retirement obligations

Dating someone within HR. XOM is actively working to offload personal that are +47 years of age without getting sued or having any class action suits filed….

HR su-ks here. Only DEI hires and uneducated people who invest in knee pads work in that department. The most embarrassing department in the entire company.

@ph Every time someone refutes these same worn-out talking points being posted by the same troll, you people cry conspiracy.

Maybe you got fired because people didn’t want to work or deal with you, and your contributions weren’t worth the trade-off of putting-up with your BS.

Its hilarious to see all of ExxonMobils paid trolls show up here to lie and defend the company. How far the company has fallen.

@hd Every company that you’ve ever worked for knows your age and SSN.

When was the last time you actually looked for a job?

@jc Hire an attorney and file an AD suit against EM.

It’s all but guaranteed to go nowhere, but since you’re on here whining/trolling about this 24/7, maybe you should at least give it a try.

@h5 Ugh…you again.

There is direct observational evidence that EM was right to fire you, and that you are (probably) unemployable.

HR argues from a defensible position , they ask if xom has exposure prior to termination or performance planning.

A lot of cases get referred but nothing really happens except the person that initiated the complaint is documented. If you complain about a process you better have more than enough data to articulate your suspicion or you'll likely be the one in the light.

With YEE, you aren't a age you're number. That number reflects experience.If your experience doesn't reflect value then ,yes you could be on a plan.

@jc https://www.markwomacklaw.com/employment-law/age-discrimination/

Look nationwide…the HR ladies are going to hand over millions to clients:law firms…
They got away with it hard in 2014 and 2020 under the auspices of downsizing… Now they are going after protected classes purposely

If someone could get a law firm to file a suit that would require release of information about rank vs age, the company could be in a serious bind. wish I knew how to move this forward.

Given the fact that promotions are based, in part, on yee, the company knows your age.

@gx listen up! There is direct observational evidence that there is direct and unlawful age discrimination in hiring and firing…HR hates white males…

@ac How do people even know how old you are? It’s against the law to ask on an application, even though some companies (Exxon included) try to get around this by asking for certain information about citizenship (ex. “What date was your citizenship issued?”) to try and date applicants. Leave it blank or put 00/00/0000.

Leave any kind of age revealing information out of your CV and avoid making dated references/jokes during the hiring process. Stick to the facts of your professional experience and how it fits with the role you applied to.

It seems like a lot of people are waving their age around like some kind of silly little flag and then wondering why they aren’t getting hired.

@ac

Difficult but not impossible. I speak from experience. However, I agree. It is better to leave the sinking ship as soon as possible if an adequate opportunity presents itself.

HR should really be rebranded as "People Sc--wers".

@a5 they might want to look at how many of them are h-pxd people. They really sc--wed them over with the “ we need you to operate and we are a big family” ohhh my favorite was “the reason we acquired pxd was bc of the great culture” but turn around and find ways to get rid of them.

@OP Yeah, complete BS. The “dating someone in HR” thing is the giveaway.

This has more to do with what you make than anything else. It’s not about age, race, or any of that other stuff you keep whining about these in posts. They just don’t want to pay you. Full stop.

If you are in your 40’s I highly recommend you leave EM before you turn 50 and are forced out. It is close to impossible to find a job once you are 50 or older. Even late 40’s is a challenge. Do not delay your job search.

OP - this very obvious. Trends are there. But legally I think they have their bases covered.

If they do not want to get into a class action lawsuit they may want to alter their tactics.

Looking at the numbers in my area would show 100% of NSI issues were to people over 45.
