Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell Project Maverick is to replace workers

I see the ex-FBI people from Ethics & Compliance are very busy taking down public news about the Project Maverick leak. Some articles are still up, like this one:
https://www.businessinsider.com/project-maverick-dell-secretive-plan-overhaul-systems-for-ai-future-2025-9

It reads as quite legitimate, discussing the 25,000 people who have already been laid off and hinting at the direction this project is heading. It’s essentially reengineering the company to be AI-operable in the near future. That’s it—that’s the goal.

I’m not sad to see ISR roles go, as they’ve always felt like a ripoff anyway, given the workload distribution and the Scam Commission Plan. But it’s inevitable—the future is moving in that direction.

So be aware: if you’re an ISR or in some other administrative role, it may be time to pivot your career toward something more sustainable and forward-looking.

So I heard in a meeting today in RR that "Maverick" has been renamed to "One Dell Way." Yeah - that'll throw people off the scent. Oh, they are so clever...

@hd Maybe so but, I feel like it depends on what role you have in the project.

idk about this... The project has very little to do with "AI" but rather transitioning applications from on premise to a cloud environment. Something most large companies did years ago lol. The only reason I think it's NDA is because Dell doesn't want anyone to know how far behind they actually are, and have been; compared to their competitors...

Of course these posts are being taken down lol. This is still under NDA even though chatGPT can tell you all about it lmfao. What's funny though is that, if you know the name of the NDA project, chatgpt can tell you all about it and the sources are all from this website lol.

I think everybody was told a different story when they signed the NDA.

The bigger the transition, the harder it will crash.

@OP AS someone who has gone through similar transitions - specifically with companies switching from internal/homegrown systems onto full SAP, you do NOT just turn it on one day and shut down the old systems. You run in parallel, wince the new one will ALWAYS crash, and then you are SOL!

Also, remember Project "DellPrint" about two years before the EMC merger? Once again, Deloitte was helping us to build our own stand-alone versoion of an SAP-like system, rather than just buying SAP. What a complete Clusterfu-k! A few years of process mapping, documenting, etc., and MILLIONS of dollars to Deloitte, which all went NOWHERE!

I guess Dell is: "If at first you don't succeed, FAIL, FAIL AGAIN."

“Operational on Friday. Decommissioned on Monday.” Seems the appropriate motto going forward.
