Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

More clarity soon?

I wonder if there will be more clarity soon? Seems like there still needs to be some things figured out with how teams are aligned now.

@er it would be funny if it weren't so sad. The level of leadership incompetence is jarring. Many of the GPs (there are some great ones, but a lot of duds) have no clue about the actual work being performed and do absolutely nothing to promote effective execution. How can they lead and make decisions? What value are they bringing? I recently had to do a presentation to my leadership chain and based on the questions they asked they were completely clueless about the work they are allegedly "leading". It's like that meme where there are a bunch of fatsos sitting on the row boat and the one scrawny guy paddling and they are like "why aren't we going any faster?" Come to life.

@dw exactly right. I had a meeting with my new leader and he all but told me they are looking at ways to automate my job.

@er, your post hit home with me. This is EXACTLY the experience many are having. It’s also proof of how haphazardly enterprise reimagined was implemented with no real understanding of the work and no plans on how work will actually transition after layoffs occurred.

And one would think that TAP trips would come behind people losing their jobs, but not here.

Such pathetic leadership and execution.

I was a level 10 who had been here nearly 20 years with a long list of responsibilities. After I got the news I no longer had a place at the firm as of 9/5, my very first question to the GP who is too busy traveling the world on TAP trips and personal ones to even know my first name much less the work that I do was…”what should I do to prepare whoever is taking my work over?”.

Her response? “As you can imagine today has been a rough day for ME and having to deliver this sort of news. Can you remind me quickly what that work was?

Me: Starts spewing off my long list of responsibilities while watching her eyeballs look like they were about to pop out of her head.

She says: Let me check with (leaders XYZ) and they’ll reach out. Not a single one or them did, ha! Guess they can swink or swim like they’ve left us to do. WHAT A MESS!!

@a9 , you'll need to really go back and study the triangle of cascade 2. You will see the lines 5-7 aren't complete.

They created teams and roles, and didn't define many of those team's responsibilities or back fill support from previous teams. What a complete joke of a leadership team!

This was a top-down power grab cloaked in buzzwords and nothing more, leaving those that actually do real work at this firm to figure out the rest!

Where did you see this on Amplify that Cascade 2 is not complete for layers 5-7? The FAQs seem to indicate that Cascade 2 is complete for all layers.
