Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Michael Dell is an A**hole

He’s directly responsible for what’s going on in Dell for the past 3-5 years with these aggressive layoffs.

@dq not true. You have no idea what you are talking about. EMC had product and financial stability and direct. Dell does what Dell does best. Fail.

I mean realistically, MD has very little to do with the company. How it operates. What is renovated, what is changed, etc etc etc... He just OWNS the company and is the FACE of the company but, day to day sh!t? He does very little to nothing except sign off on a few major things here and there. But I very much doubt he has nothing to do with layoffs, RTO, or literally anything else.

It's honestly the COO who is running (and ruining) the company. We all know who that is, too...HE's the one in charge of EVERYTHING. He's the one who is money hungry and wants to make a name for himself - which will never happen at dell because unless something happens to MD, the COO will always remain the COO at dell and will NEVER be the CEO. MD is 4 years younger than JC and I don't see MD giving up the reigns unless he 100% absolutely has to due to health reasons.

All those emails we get from MD are written by his secretary. As well as any email from any Exec... MD just tells him/her what his thoughts are and then they make a write up, he reads it over and gives it a thumbs up, then throw his face on it and BO-M!

TLDR: MD is just the face of the company and isn't the one pulling the strings. That person would be the COO... again, we all know who THAT is.

100% agree with the people responsible that have been laid out on this thread. But let’s be honest folks, there is something much bigger than either one of them, that is an unstoppable train, and will replace every single one of us - everybody needs to plan accordingly. Your only job is to try and make as much money as you can in the next 5 years - don’t focus any of your time on these 2 clowns.

@dq are you re--rded? EMC were definitely not laying people off. I don’t know a single EMC person who wouldn’t go back to what we were before MSD got his grubby claws into us.

MD has not been relevant in over 10y.

And dont blame JC for all this. MD is just as culpable

@dq Wahat layoffs are you talking about? I worked at EMC way before the Dell buyout and never even heard of anyone being layed off. Now my business unit shrinks every few months, from 300+ before the pandemic to just 40 today. The 40 of us that are still around are tasked with calming customers after wipro sc--ws the pooch and pi---s them off. We've never been busier in the last 25 years than we are now.

The layoffs were going on with EMC way before Dell came along. I don't think they will ever stop they will continue year after year unfortunately!!

The worse part is it's not always the dead weight that get let go a lot of good people over the years have been let go as well.

I would argue its JC not MD....MD has become the public face of Dell only leaving JC to run things. The current state of Dell IMO is 100% on him.

You aren’t worth $110 billion because you’re a good or ethical person.

@OP All he has to do is layoff one person under him and that would save so many jobs.
