Are layoffs finally going to begin this week?

Why are they dragging out this so long? Get it over with already.

Uhmmm layoffs have been going on for 2 weeks now in small batches. They are not going to be in one single giant event if that is what you think happens.

any layoff is generally at the end of a pay period. mid month or end of month.

Layoffs haven't happened yet as they are too incompetent to do them in a timely manner.

No layoffs, Ford Land RTO welcome back with cupcakes and blue kool-aid, fun and games.

Find a parking spot, musical chairs and other fun events planned.

@bc Usually the productive ones have something to complain about because they take pride in work and have something to complain about. Logically speaking, those who are coasting don't feel the same pressure nor do they notice anything wrong.

It's so disruptive to culture and real work.
A career change might be nice and not wonder about the next round.
Voluntary packages would be so much more positive.
Peace to all!

Oh man, I hope so. I’m getting tired of complaining about my work all the time. Being laid off is so much easier than actually trying to be productive at work.

@b1 Remind yourself that employment is a contractual, professional relationship. Maintain personal boundaries and cultivate relationships outside of work. A known tactic is encouraging employees to see the company as a "family", blurring professional and personal boundaries. This makes criticism or leaving the company feel like betrayal. Some signs of this are frequent use of "we’re a family", discouraging boundaries (e.g., after-hours messaging framed as "team spirit"), or being told that this is the "prime time" in your career. You may be encouraged to grind now, sacrifice personal time, and prioritize work as if it’s the only way to gain recognition... when in reality, the benefits might go to others, leaving you feeling unnoticed or undervalued.

Maybe they wont. If I had $1 for every post about how layoffs are imminent and begin tomorrow, I’d be doing well.

@OP

As one one of the 3,000 separated in the sept. 2022 mass layoffs it would be very easy and probably justified to go on a rant and criticize Ford.

However, I realize the very short-term relief or satisfaction that may provide would really not be productive for anyone.

I bled Ford Blue for years as an engineering employee, customer, and advocate of the products. All this was true knowing that as an at-will employee any day could be the last.

I guess the most disheartening part of this is that when a company becomes so much of who you are as an employee, but more importantly as a person, and company advocate you can be tossed aside so unceremoniously and not because of performance issues.

I don't wish any ill will toward the company or people (and honestly the people are what make a company), however how can those involved in these decisions not see how these actions are even more detrimental to the company after all the recalls.

I'd still come back, but won't be allowed to because of the separation details.

Ok, enough from me. Good luck everyone!

This is the only site I visit where people seem disappointed when layoffs don't happen.
