Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Has anyone ever gone to their manager to ask for a lighter workload?

How did that conversation go for you?

I have and I was told that they completely understand as everyone is overworked and morale is low, however, we need to keep our seniors happy so keep it going. Also heard, I’m sorry that I’m not in a position to help but keep it up! You are doing great! I want to be rates low so I’m eligible fora severance but I was assured that it wouldn’t happen because I actually work hard am are needed to keep the boat moving forward. Damn work ethic.

There is no value in doing this. It sends the wrong signal to your manager

You need to look for a new job (yes I know that is super hard)

Unless you are in the tail end of your career and have nothing to lose
