Thread regarding Five9 Inc. layoffs

Ajay Hires His Own

It's not family, so nepotism. But with the lawsuit...the board should be aware that Ajay has been hiring his own. This is not about race. He's hiring people that he knows has no experience in the industry, but only people he's known from past jobs. Handing out these positions to get points with them and to get people who he agrees with.

@wh - shows this company is just flailing at the wind. If you don’t have a product, you don’t have a company. Ajay is obviously just trying his best to get short wins or resume lines he can use at whatever sewer he ends up occupying next, bringing his brown tu-ds with him. Only issue with him is that they can’t be flushed. Only picked up by hand and put into another toilet.

Ajay is likely going to keep replacing people with randos, did you see some of the salaries the new guys are getting? It is a total sp-t in the face, especially when all the OG product people left or were laid off.

AJ is not just incompetent but damaging to the company's long term prospects. His knee je-k reactions are really concerning, I can't imagine what a living he-l the products team is to work in.

@g6 Yes but the difference here is that even though you could debate the innovation/delivery output, they had some kind of credibility within the domain they’re expected to work within. Right now in the product org you might as well be putting new grads in VP roles while they google common contact center terms to catch up.

If the board does see this, go take a look at recently hired and then quickly laid off individuals who were meant to be the change agents the product org needed. Essentially, if you disagree with Ajay (which is very hard as he is constantly misinformed and wrong about assumptions), he will replace you with folks just like him

@OP That's common across Five9 or most organizations this size. Panos did that to consolidate this grip on PE org and Rosenberg did that as well by bringing Tory under him from Cisco.
