IN the EXI town hall, it was announced everyone's RTO.

They want to see your face in person when they lay you off.
the guy saying the mileage thing is fake news and probably doesnt even work for UHG
@174 what is the mileage threshold they stated? So they told fully retire workers within XX miles with MN/ DC offices they will be required to come in 4 days a week? How did that go over with the team? Are they willing to comply ???
@fj this townhall was not recorded, but it was stated those within a certain milage of an office will soon be expected back 4 days weeks
@ej It’s not just about office space. State like TX where they have majority of employees, office needs parking lot to accommodate parking. If you look up some left over building (after they closed a lot), they only have about a few hundred parking capacity. I don’t mean this would not definitely happen, but it’s not a story of tomorrow and lots of logistic planning and money pour into this.
Also, the target 70% offshore can not apply to all departments. You also conveniently apply this filter before removing the 50k the clinical, market, warehouse, which skew the final number.
Meanwhile, lots of things can happen from now till 2026. Just look out for yourself and find a new job elsewhere instead of worrying about this.
Lastly, if they force someone living 300 miles away to an office, I think it’s pretty clear that it’s just a layoff in disguise. Never move if it means you have to uproot your family. So again, find a new job!
I do feel like people on this sub are pretty paranoid with these info. If it happens, you’ll find a way. There is just so many speculation.
Where is the proof of all of us returning to office? Townhalls are typically recorded?
@b5 Bingo. EE counts are on other threads; we're going from 380,000 global EEs targeting 10% cut this year = 342,000. After general cost cutting, Wayne's bringing his chainsaw to trim some LOBs in 2025 = reasonable. 2026 is another story.
Factor 70% in IN/PH and it's 103,000, 3k for IE/UK and that's 100,000 in the US. Many in a clinical setting, some in warehouses, a handful in-market sales roles.
That's what, 50k, 60k maybe in white collar clerical support roles? With the innovation center work they are prepping to backfill/relocate as needed. Closing CA offices yes, but that's labor laws and wages. Other places are looking to expand office space.
We need 10m sqft of office space at $50/foot is about $500m/yr to accommodate RTO: it's going to happen.
On careers.unitedhealthgroup.com, they still advertise remote jobs and mention "All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy " or "You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. "
@OP never happening for all stateside employees. Rented properties were already shed, and RTO would apply to certain jobs as it always has/had.
Um....all my team mates minus one live over 2 hrs away from an office.
They should move closer or start looking for another job. Don’t know what else to tell ya. 🤷♂️
@a7 There are not 300000 employees in the states. The 300000 are world wide. The stateside has been laying them off.
Um....all my team mates minus one live over 2 hrs away from a office. I dont buy this. Where is the proof they said this?
confirm current ELT work around MN and DC "innovation centers" and others in consideration. Basis is part existing employees, but more importantly the local talent pool in the markets.
NO idea how they will recruit in major job centers for less money than Boondocks hires. Not only do they have to pay market average in what were fka Tier Y and Tier Z (albeit MN is Tier X) vs 25% or less as is current practice, they will pay a premium to overcome brand stigma UHG carries to get top tech talent.
To fit into the current scale expect to bend over for LOT of green VPs (200k-250k base, 30% bonus, 100k RSU) with limited experience. Watch the exodus as they hit 1.5-2yrs and make lateral external moves for a 25-50% pay bump.
Can anyone else confirm?
Nobody knows what your acronyms mean and a lot of offices have closed so there is nowhere for employees to return to. Get a life.
Given the magnitude of what would full RTO means I highly doubt they would announce it during the townhall .
So that’s also UHC and Optum, and that’s about more than 300k employees to go back to office. So … Where, how, and for how many days per week, etc.
EXI=Employee EXPERIENCE Index
They don’t even have the office space for everyone
What is EXI ?
Is this for all loads of business for United and optum? When will it take effect?
That's nice. Won't catch me there. Have fun trundling on in like weak peons, though.
