Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

Anyone know if newer hires are eligible for severance during a round of layoffs?

I joined recently, and with everything that's going on, I'm just trying to figure out what I’d be entitled to if things go south. Feels like a strange time to be the “new guy.”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told if you work at a location where less than a certain number of layoffs happen you are not eligible for Warn pay

@as funny how people love to judge choices they’d never have to make. If I had ten offers lined up, sure, I’d pick the “perfect” one. Some of us are here bc we have bills, responsibilities and no safety net. Easy for you to say and assume anything- not everyone has the privilege of turning down a paycheck.

@OP
Hope you will be safe . But there won't be any extra severance.
But you would be eligible for Warn notice pay which will like 2-3 months of salary based on your work location and if layoffs cross that threshold .
Usually around 2 weeks per year of service as severance.
Even if you have 401 contributions the company contributions won't get vested till completion of 2 years .
