Thread regarding Optum layoffs

J.D. Vance and the American Worker

So, several news reports this morning: Our Vice President is being very vocal and admonishing companies who have laid off American workers in favor of offshoring, H-1B visas and cheap, foreign labor. Possible executive orders, legislation and tax penalties are on the table.

Now what if, he became aware of how, specifically, UHG has aborhently treated its American employees the past several years, and he called out the company publicly? And, oh, I don't know, what if yet another public backlash caused UHG's precious stock price to nosedive even further, or providers moved on? Just wondering. Although, if UHG reversed these policies and declared itself an America First company actually dedicated to the healthcare of Americans (rather than a globalist, profit-obsessed sweatshop) the opposite could happen. Speculation.

You can punish these companies by not using their products or services. Boycott them!

Countries can’t “give away” your jobs unless you vote for people who refuse to “provide for the common welfare” by passing and enforcing laws that benefit the “common welfare”. Like other first world countries do. We in the US are intended to be fleeced until we bleed, because rapacious locusts and all.

And, J.D. happens to be married to a high-caste Indian woman with high-level connections in Silicon Valley, and her family has close ties to the UK government.

H1-B is NOT your problem folks. It’s the massive office buildings in Bangalore and Manila full of replacements.

Probably the only thing I would ever support him on as a tech worker.

Best case scenario it will be used as leverage for their benefit and enrich. Situation won't change for you or me.

It's time to start punishing these countries taking our jobs and the American companies giving them away. Whether it's tariffs against the foreigners or tax penalties against the greedy Amercan corporations or something else we need to make it so financially painful to do this that they have no choice but to leave American jobs alone. We've all had enough and it's time to stand up and fight back.

Delusional if you think any of these crooks care about you. Govt Affairs is hiring Thiel-ites like Vance to get on board.

The big machine uses you as a churl or grinds you to paste. Only way to win is to go elsewhere.

India just stood up to Trump on tariffs. Time for trump to "get back at them" and demand any company supporting US health care onshore all their labor. No way UHG can handle that cost, though.
