Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

A Rare Occasion

INTC is tanking after hours. Not even huge, additional layoffs will motivate Wallstreet. What’s next?

Love how mental some folks are

They literally said this is them wrapping up what was announced in April, yet people chase headlines vs reading articles.

It's literally the same layoff announced in April, just concluding.

OP, read the 10Q submitted to the SEC. I mean really read it. You can get a copy on intc.com

If you read it and really understand it, there is no way you would see a positive future for Intel at this point in time. When you read the part about SCIP, that is private equity being involved in a big way.

Look at the other 10Q posts on this site too.

Intel’s fair value per share is $4.6. So go figure…

@a1 agree. Seen various iterations. This will turn into a liquidation event. Not sure what else will inspire those to leave who need work.

Investors have "re-org fatigue". They usually like layoffs because it means the company is getting leaner. But after years of layoffs and "restructuring", they aren't seeing much in the way of results. So instead of a layoff bump, we're seeing a layoff "meh". You can only claim to be "restructuring" and "right-sizing" so many times before investors catch on that you're really just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.

Where does one see the stock price at Intel?

hmmm, so layoffs work when it comes to propping up the stock price.

hmmm, i wander what's next?

i am pretty sure it's more layoffs.

people dont even realize how deep and long this will.

this aint 'one and done' kind of thing, my wife was with blockbuster video when they were tanking (10+ years total) and it kind of felt the same.
