Letters went out today to targeted employees at multiple Alcon locations in the US and overseas, for the employee to decide if they want to take a voluntary separation. The target reduction is 2% of the 25,000 workforce.

Definitely something is coming. They like to do layoffs in in Q4. Stock was close to 100 and now it's barely 75 after acquiring 4 companies and the stock went to 73. Management isnt good can't be a good company when the top is rotting

@OP Trump is considering a high tariff on offshore IT jobs which would help the hire of more high quality US IT workers who get taken out on a poor cost model that lacks quality and “costs” more.

@OP Perhaps they will end their offshore IT US and to India, Mexico etc and onshore HB1 visas and hire more US citizens.

There's a definite vibe around Ft. Worth and in field sales that something is going on. Not the good kind of vibe.

There is certainly a lot of speculation across the workforce, and the business conditions logically support something happening in 2025 and 2026. Add in the new on-going pattern of quiet firing over the 10 months or so. This lack of transparency and duplicitousness by the new management, combined with unprecedented economic uncertainties, and you have the perfect recipe for high levels of distraction, stress and anxiety, and low moral. This leads inflated rumors, driving low motivation and poor decision making. People fear what they do not know and cannot plan for. It would be far better if management adopted a transparent, fair, and honest approach, such as a plan, including an RIF with clear scope, fair terms, timelines, etc.
