Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Vicki is 8th highest paid Exec in Houston

According to the Houston Chronicle’s annual exec pay analysis, Vicki was 8th highest paid CEO in Houston area and made $18.5mm in 2024 compensation. That’s a lot of moolah but it takes a special kind of person to destroy shareholder value and survive two questionable acquisitions. Well done Occidental!

Vicki’s high pay is not her fault. All oil companies benchmark executive compensation against each other. CEO pay is disclosed in SEC filings. So her pay is raised each year so that it’s comparable to what other CEOs in the oil industry make.
It’s similar to how arbitration of compensation in pro baseball causes ever escalating pay.

Hope Steve C got some happy moments with VH, because he doomed us and the company with the absolute worst CEO ever.
Stupid decisions being rewarded with her high salary. What a mo--n she is and always has been.

What makes you think Exxon wants Oxy? Is it because they lost the Chevron arbitration? With the debt I still think it puts a hold on any deal for Oxy. If ever true I would hate to work for Exxon compared to what we have with Oxy, but then again Exxon would probably cut the majority of us.

Exec's fly the mess into the ground and then get $10 to $90 million dollars to go away. Watch what VH and the crew get when they eventually bail... Wonder why no one is leaving??
